We thoroughly enjoyed our recent dinner (July 14, 2023) at the Bana Restaurant Luzern, Switzerland. We stumbled upon this new restaurant and had a truly delightful experience! The Bana specializes in African cuisine but it also offers some traditional items on its menu. Dining at the Bana is an adventure in eating! My delicious African dinner was served in a brightly colored wicker tagine. What a treat! I ordered an African Vegetarian Teller. With a little help from our server, I was instructed to tear off a bit of the African bread and scoop up the vegetable mixture, eating all just with my fingers. The vegetables were seasoned with curry and many other flavors, but not too spicy. My husband safely ordered a bratwurst and he pronounced it delicious and perfectly cooked. The restaurant is simply decorated but very unique. The Bana is not a fancy place but you will feel like you have stepped into a part of Africa. Everything was extremely clean. (Our silverware was so shiney we could see our reflections.) The restaurant is not air conditioned so be prepared to be a little warm. Also credit cards are not yet accepted, so bring Swiss francs! The Bana is owned by two young entrepreneurs, Solomon & Samri. Both came to our table and enthusiastically greeted us with handshakes and big smiles. We felt very welcomed and appreciated. These are two young people who are trying very hard to run a successful business. Give them your business. Step out of your comfort zone and experience something different. Happy Adventure Dining!
