Dear google community, After finally having digested the events of my last meal — emotionally as well as physically — I have now, with a weary heart and heavy soul, mustered the strength to write this review. It’s not an easy task, for what I experienced in that restaurant was not only a culinary letdown but also an atmospheric display of pretentiousness entirely lacking in substance. The restaurant is about to close because the building will be torn down — a fact one might pity, were it not for the creeping suspicion that it’s not the building being demolished because of the restaurant, but rather the restaurant being spared further embarrassment by the demolition. In that sense, I can only say: thanks, and good riddance. And the food? Almost as boring as the ambiance. A half-hearted attempt to rise into the upper echelons of gastronomy, failing miserably due to a complete absence of craft or flavor. The service — pretending to be sophisticated, but in reality just dismissive and disinterested — topped off an evening that would have been better spent at the gas station around the corner. At least they serve honest sandwiches. What remains is a memory of bland flavors, stiff chairs, and an unpleasantly elitist tone that sucked the last hint of enjoyment out of the room. This wasn’t a culinary outing — it was a lesson in overestimation. With disappointed regards,. A weary guest. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2 Price per person: CHF 90–100

Truly one of the best restaurants in town — actually my favourite! I've always loved the food, month after month something new and exciting. The service is so thoughtful and absolutely lovely. The food is definitely worth the price. So sad to see you go Goldigi Guttere! :‘(

I rarely take the time to write reviews, but this experience left me with no choice. Words fail to capture the magic of our evening at Zur Goldige Guttere. No matter how eloquent, they simply wouldn’t do it justice. From the moment we called to inform the restaurant that we were running late to the moment we left (with our doggy bag), we were spellbound and felt genuinely cared for. Laura and her team have mastered the art of exceptional service. They struck the perfect balance between being welcoming and attentive, blending a great sense of humor (shout out to Mara) with the seriousness required at just the right moments. The service was personalized, authentic, and extremely professional. And the food you ask? An absolute showstopper. The shared plates were outstanding, each dish contributing to a harmonious culinary symphony. Everything just made sense and was simply delicious. In short, Zur Goldige Guttere is a MUST-visit when in Zurich. I for one, can’t wait to go back. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
